Details for "PAY IDENTIFICATION IN UNCONVENTIONAL RESERVOIRS"
Finding new pay intervals in an unconventional reservoir is difficult at best. Obtaining rock properties and open hole log data are instrumental in understanding these unconventional reservoirs. How we interpret that data is critical to identifying pay and determining how we stimulate the formation. Halliburton has RockVision and ShaleLog software that helps identify these unconventional reservoirs and also determines the rock properties to facilitate the stimulation design for the well to achieve maximum production.
Jeff Laufer started work for Halliburton in 1981 as an open hole wire-line engineer. Nine transfers, two international assignments and 20 years later, Jeff returned home to Midland, Texas in 1997. In 2001 he moved into sales in Midland. Jeff became interested in the shale plays in 2005 and attended many of the shale conferences. He is a member of the Halliburton North American shale team as well as SPE, SPWA, SEPM and WTGS. Jeff graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Engineering Technology.
